Core Values
At the Women’s Wellness Institute, our work is guided by a set of women-centered principles that shape how we support women’s mental health and wellness. These values ensure that every woman—regardless of background, life stage, or circumstance—has access to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. They guide us to act with empathy, build strength from adversity, honor lived experiences, and work together across sectors to create lasting impact. We believe in:
Equity
We champion fairness and justice, ensuring that women of all backgrounds—including those with disabilities, living with HIV, incarcerated, survivors of SGBV, and those with NCDs—have equal access to quality MHPSS services across life stages.
Dignity
We uphold the inherent worth of every woman, honoring lived experiences and fostering safe, stigma-free environments where healing and empowerment are possible.
Resilience
We empower women and communities to recover, adapt, and thrive before, during, and after emergencies, building strength from adversity.
Inclusion
We embrace diversity and prioritize the voices of women often left at the margins, ensuring that programs and policies are culturally responsive and gender-transformative.
Compassion
We act with empathy, care, and humanity, centering women’s emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing in every intervention.
Collaboration
We foster multisectoral partnerships—spanning health, education, justice, humanitarian, and social systems—to create holistic, integrated approaches to women’s wellness.
Accountability
We commit to transparency, ethical practice, and evidence-based approaches, ensuring impact and trust in our work.
Innovation
We drive creative, research-informed, and context-sensitive solutions that address evolving needs and lessons learned, including those from COVID-19 and future crises.
